How much can you make your password

Yeah.. what's the limit. I had a pretty long password, but for some reason couldn't logged on. I'm fairly sure i typed in in correctly (cut-n-paste ftw). So the system gave me like an 8 digit number and figured :frusty: that there must be a limit to how many characters a password can contain!

You can't copy/cut a password field in a browser.

no, rossco. i have the password stored on my computer. i copy the password from notepad onto the password field. i'm not copying a string of asterisks or anything.
i am doing the same thing with my current ~10-char password as i did with my ~60-char password.
The password length really doesn't matter for me, because i'm going to copy and paste it anyway (i don't feel like memorizing it).
i just want to know how long a password can be. for example, i know that truecrypt only allows password up to 64 characters long.

50 is the maximum characters that it will let you insert.
Dunno if that's the max password length vbulletin will handle though... my guess is it IS or else it would tell you it's too long.
Just use a password <20 chars.
