On SCT-hardly ever. On FTN - due to lots of freebies it is manageable.

There are lots of torrents (even new ones) in FTN that are free to leech, so you don't really have to worry about your ratio.
Also, in FTN - you can either seed a torrent to a 1:1 ratio OR seed it for at least 36 hours - and everything is fine.

In FTN, its definitely possible.
In SCT, I rarely even go to the site anymore as I know I can't seed there. :dabs:

For ftn its very easy to seed and have good ratio, but for sct it's very hard to have good ratio.

I agree that it is fairly easy on FTN to keep a nice ratio with all these freebies.
As for the Sct, a lot of people were helped out with the freeleech and 2X upload some months ago and made etraordinary buffers.
Otherwise it is quite difficult, since it is the tracker of the seedbox owners!

Very hard at SCT. The only way to create some buffer is to grab releases ASAP via RSS. If you're 20 minutes late you'll never be able to seed back.

Depend on your connection, if you have a dialup so maybe you need a seedbox, the last time I use dialup & using private tracker, I can't dl/ul a shit, so maybe at least, let's say 1mbit is enough to survive both FTN & ScT if you're smart?

FTN is fine.
ScT is a bit worse, but if you got lots of free time, you can just check their irc regulary and download torrent 1 sec after they upload it, ur good. 10-20 min late and its really almost impossible to manage 1+ ratio.

ftn easy as pie. even without the freebies. sct you can still servive without a seedbox but it is a little harder. you have to pick your downloads much more carefully. there are ALOT of late snatches on sct though.

i agree i fell victim to the seedbox crap it does not make since to spend money on severs when all you are doing is downloading/uploading really fast on one and then you have to ftp/torrent it to your computer at a fraction of the server speed(home connection)
it is like downloading it twice waist of money and time:yup:
as far as FTN/SCT you do not need a seed server

FTN is probably the best tracker out there because of the freebies and ability to seed. I've almost uploaded 50GB in the last 3 weeks. I have a 15/768 connection speed.
SCT is definitely harder because of the seedboxes UL at a much higher rate and since most broadband services have great DL speeds but very limited UL speeds.
I wish SCT would offer more free leech packs.

Same here. Dial-up costs around $0.5/hour and I pay $30/month for 3.5 Mbit connection.

It's not that hard to seed on SCT. And I don't have a seedbox. My upload speed is 1Mbit, and with partial seeding most of the times I max out my upload speed. :)

On both trackers, you can always grab a scene release from elsewhere and seed it there in order to get a nice buffer. On ftn things are a lot easier, since it has tons of freebies. On sct things are harder but just do what i wrote above.

you can keep a good ratio on any site but you just have to be selective. I think its harder on ftn because they have so few peers.
But shoot I have a hard time seeding back on sct with my box. Like stated before if you dont get on quick the peers are gone

For example with 2mbit upload speed you can get ratio over 2 on ScT if you seed what you download for just 3-4 days. Also is good idea to set up rss in your torrent client if you are watching popular tv shows ;)
