it all depends. for newer stuff i use torrents exclusively. oink and stmusic for music. and a handful of other sites for dvd's and stuff. tti is a great one for dvd actually. TONS of freebies and a HUGE selection.
anything i cant find on torrents though i usually use emule for. its really slow though

I'd say torrents. The best IMO.

The best is actually to be found here,... http://mensap2p.com :)
To get started:- http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21
Download a multi-sourcing client, Lopster, for windows (also builds for Mac and Linux) http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=66404&package_id=114522&release_id=268467
all absolutely free and... free of spyware etc..
Then join the original file-sharing networks and start downloading...

i keep my eye on torrent scene for new stuff but i have to search for something preistoric then eMule is the best choice. btw rapidshare is a sensible way too...

My favorites:
- Emule Client
- And megaupload, rapidshare...
- Chinese, Russian portal !

i prefer trackers, with scene

Scene ftps and dumps. Although for most it would be private trackers.
Let's not forget usenet though. Most just download, though some nice souls do upload to newsgroups. With a good premium newsserver, there is NO tracker that can compete with USENET.
