There's a new fst layout/design/skin coming soon to hopefully replace the existing skins, meaninng the new logo wouldn't be up for too long.
If someone wants to come up wiht a good logo at 60px high by ~400px wide with background color #303b4a that would help me a lot. :)

at least he gave you the hex code for the color and not the RGB values. Hex much easier to cut and paste! :)

And it's not dark, just dark parts (bars) (like the blue in synapse, or the dark blue in chromo).
hex color codes and rbg vales are exactly the same heh; but for the sake of convenience, with hex color codes you have to paste two less timesFor me it means not having to paste the hex color into photoshop and copy the rgb, also. :P

hmm, seems rossco understood me the first time. ofc, the codes will equate to the same color, but what's better having to copy, paste 3x or having one number in memory?

sunshine666, could you take out the "filesharing discussions, news, and more" so we can see how that looks?
Also, could you update the height to 92px so we can get the text to sit on the bottom of the header (see pic) but so the gradient is at the top?

35503551All of the words are clickable...
So, 'FileSharing Talk' is clickable to take you to the forum home. Each link after it (cant see in the screenshot) links to whatever the title is (forum category, forum title, thread title, etc.)
The link at the top that says 'Home' takes you to the portal, 'Forum' takes you to the forum home, etc. and they highlight in blue for wherever you are on the board. :) Admin is jsut for me and reality, mods get 'Modcp'.
I dunno about latest news...do you have an idea of where I could add that? :unsure:
I managed to get the top bit to 60px and the ads look alright still. :)
So if we could get that logo sunshine666 made at 60px height (the original dimensions) and without the 'filesharing discussion, news and more' that should be perfect.:)

I like how you ended the gradient at the end of the logo instead of me having to continue it.
If it continues then the ads on top will make it looked fcked anyway.;)
Also I changed it back to 60px.
I think the last one skizo posted is great (credit goes to you, sunshine, obviously).
Think you could AA the word talk a little bit?

My thought is that if the second line of text is the same length as the site name, they appear to run together. That's why I made it quite a bit smaller and and shorter.

commonly that's the formula to making a slogan as part of the logo
otherwise it looks unbalanced and doesn't keep the "togetherness" feel
i'm trying to think of an example logo... and my mind is drawing a blank :(

I'm hoping the ad's make it better. Another question, will the ad's be recolored to fit background color (grey) or will they stay the same (i.e. usenetserver is white and would stick out ewww :) )

Stands out, makes more of an impact :) Thought it would be nice to keep the original logo colours, but the blue was too dark for the background so chose a different shade.

In a way i agree with the X, the logo needs some kind of "symbol" whether it is x or fst or F or whatever. design is all
