Thats what people would say if they had my computer in 1998......
I'm on Intel Pentium 2 400mhz 192mb RAM
on a ABIT BH6 1.1 with CPU Soft II
I tried over clocking this but when i done everything and restart it says cpu is unworkable and bounces back to 400mhz my colling is a defualt fan I'm sitting here at 30C the amount i overclocked too was 450mhz now hold on! I know what your gonna say so don't say it "Thats too high to start overclocking with bla bla bla"
Well guess what!? Thats the lowest I can go the mutiplier goes by 50's on a 100mhz clock speed now if i went sumthing like 433mhz (66) then that would even do anything right?
So can anyone help me overclock?

I believe the pentium 2 is locked. You have to open the case and do some mods to unlock it before trying to overclock. the heat looks fine.
With a p2 and a 100mgh fsb I'd guess the board was made to take a lot more processor than you have installed. Check it on google and see what it supports.

It says 350 - 500 on a 100 mgh FSB P3
350 - 450 on a P2 100 mgh FSB or 233 - 333 on a 66mgh FSB
Still from what I've read on them, apparently they were locked by default so I'm not sure how much good a software based overclock will do.

There used to be an adapter available to unlock the proc. It might still be around. There is also software to up the FSB as well.

You have to open the cartridge and look near the processor base.
There are a couple of circuits that you have to cut to unlock it.
I've seen a few websites that show the procedure but the best is the book "Upgrading and Repairing PC's 13th Edition" .
It's pretty pricey but well worth the investment.
There is a new 14th edition out but it's only supplied with a DVD so it's not as usefull on an older PC.
You might be able to find it in a library or through college book sales.
