im trying to download jackass the movie. i have high speed broadband connection. approx how long should it take to download? if u dont know how long does it take for oyu to download movies etc?

It's almost impossible to give an estimation... It keeps changing as sources come and go!
But I'd say 3-4 hours for the most popular files to an eternity for rare stuff.

 I have never d/led a 700mb movie in 3 to 4 hours, and I have cable!! What are you d/ling with?"

It took me forever and a day to DL jackass the movie. I got the link from fasttrack and it took about 3 weeks. The thing is with that movie there were a bunch of fakes, and this was the only good copy I could find. Patience is the key to dl'ing any large files. It does get frustrating to sit there in the queue all day and not dl anything. Just hang in there.

Yep same here 2-3 hours for 700 mb

 Oh don't worry I have an 80 gig hard drive with 59 megs of space left because it is completely full of movies and anime!! I have patience.. I was just wondering how he did it so much faster

I have a 570.kps connection and if its a popular file, I'd expect to get it in about 4 hours. Otherwise why are you paying for a relatively high speed connection?

I have 56K. For me to download a 700MB movie, it would take me about.....

a week.. :(

Posted by: that1dude

well it really matters on what you have, and what the other people have such as cable or 56k. and if there is a bunch of people dl from that person then it will go slow.

Posted by: Bebi

It all depends on 3 things...

quality of the file: higher quality of the file makes the filer bigger so it takes longer
Your download speed: how fast your download is obviously effects your downloading power
There upload speed: the person your downloading from's upload speed will also effect your download speed

For me downloading a 700 mb file is about 2-3 hours

well elts see ive hit the time record..... i finished downloading it 2 days ago i started when the movie went to theatres....... you see i was on 56k so yeah thats quite some time there id say a week after it came out i was downloading it

I don't know why you dont like 56k (guy who posted above), it may take 35 hours + to download, but just leave it on overnight, during the day and in spare time you get....takes me about 4 days (so far 2 days of downloading vice city and im at 400/780mb) :D

Posted by: NuLLb0y

Posted by: Makaveli-tha-don

BT++ takes me about 4 hours to download 700mb but kazaa takes about 7 hours.

Posted by: Sly_Cooper

 , it only takes 10 minutes for me to download a movie and i only pay
30$/month for my broadband.

all depends on what u r dl'ing if it's sum thing popular -- say 28 Day Later u will get that in no time.. but i have got Friday the 13th part 3 going and it's got like 2 sources and it has taken 3 month just 2 get 2 100mb

Wrong...

Quality of the file: Normally 700 mb file can be better than 3 MPG files that are 700mb, so the smaller wins...

it depends on encoding.

Yes, true, however a 700mb file is almost always better than a 200mb re-encode.

it takes me about 37hrs to 50hr to download a movie. I used to be able to get about 4.5Kb/s but now I'm lucky to get 3.6Kb/s. Does anyone know why, It's not because of sources because I got plenty of them, but what gives?
