Ive used irc for about 5 years and most of the servers youll connect to scan your ip to see if your using a proxy or socks firewall. But if in any event you connect to a server that doesnt do that, like efnet, then all you have to do is download mirc client and configure your proxy settings in that.
Due to all the denial of service attacks (d0s) its very hard to connect to a server by proxy or socks firewall. But you may get lucky from time to time. :huh:
