my power saids to be 450watts... but if its and if its really like 300 watts will it be able to take all these components...

--> 2 hard drives
--> 2 cdrom drives
--> cordless mouse, keyboard
--> scanner
--> printer
--> soundcard
--> ati all in wonder card / remote
--> speakers

what exactly does the watts take power from...

Since i dont want my computer dying on me... it seems to be carrying on alot...

Your biggest powerhogs are ussually your proc. and video card,granted you have your scanner and your printer on a seperate outlet-these pose no probs.soundcards and drives don't use that much power.

You should be alright,if your not having window error problems,overheating problems or such.450 watts should be more than adequate with your specs.
Good power does matter.

Same could be said for home amp/receivers trying to driver good speakers with a crappy amp just doesn't cut it.
My speakers are rated 20-350w-500w peak they don't start kickin in till I feed them about 20w of power.
Using a 200w p/channel amp-but if I had just a 40w amp and cranked it up all the way I'd start having clipping probs. and it wouldn't sound to good.

alright good... i was afraid that overloading my computer with alot of stuff might overheat it or something even tho i have 3 fans... n the powersupply fan, videocard fan, processor fan...

but im not sure if my powersupply is really 450 watts lol since manufactors can just say that their powersupply is 600watts and give you a 300watts

:lol: I know what your saying,the case I bought came with a 400w PS.
But it looks pretty generic,it has a little white sticker that says 400w stuck to it.
I guess it's legit though,I haven't had any probs. with it.
Lots of probs with my old case w/300w PS.
Case was $5 more than new 400w PS :lol: .

Oh I made to 3 star member statis now yippy!!! :lol: :lol:
