just had a look in cpuz at my memory speed and not sure whether this is correct. My memory is meant to be 800mhz but is showing as 400mhz is that right?

DDR stands for Double Data Rate, thus 400Mhz x 2 = 800Mhz.
Your RAM is running at the correct speed. Don't worry about it :)
