Forums were lagging out for the first few days and then you guys finally put it offline for a bit. Was this because of DDos attacks, or what? I'm guessing so because we have that secure page or w/e before logging in..

Probably the influx of new users registering to this site. The server also needs serious upgrading to hold this site together. It's better then it going offline completely in my opinion(Whether that counts or anybody elses) for that matter.
