How fast should my download speed be?

I currently have Verizon DSL 5mbps down. How fast should i be able to download via torrents or newzbinz or whatever. I think my speed's too low for 5mbps because it only gets to about 90kb/s steady.

Your ISP might be throttling torrent downloads or the seeds are slow.

when i do the test, i max out at 606kb/sec. should i be downloading torrents at that rate?

Yeas it should be that way,but it depents on the other users too ;)

100mb/100mb seed box :)

5mbps should be way more than 90kb/s do a speedtest and check, otherwise your ISP may be throttling you.

How fast should mine be?

24MBit dl.

I get 1.7MB/s sometimes, but not unless its from a very high-end tracker.

Should I be seeing it at 2.0MB/s?

you can test by it

5mbps down should get you around 600+kBs down and I have never heard that Verizon Fios throttles there customers, so I am guessing you just have not been lucky enough to jump on a fast seeding torrent.

But the best bet is for you to do a speedtest to check your speeds like it was stated above.
