Read this on a news site, thought some of you here might appriciate the news. NIN is making their new album, the slip, available for download through their website http://www.nin.com/ .
Don't miss out, they offer a few different quality levels, including FLAC, and an insain quality better then CD!

flac and v0 sound the same to almost everybody, in fact flac and v5 is considered the point where an average person cannot pass a blind test and tell the difference. Also, the quality of flac IS NOT better than CD quality, because it's a lossless copy of a cd. The quality should be the same as a cd, not better.

I think you mis-understood me. They offer mp3, FLAC, AND another format that IS suppiror to CD quality. Although they even admit in that description that only with very high end audio equiptment would you be able to notice any difference at all. Just for information,the mp3 rip is 87MB, the FLAC rip was 259MB, and this other format "wave 24/96" is 1.2GB!
Definatly not the usual rip, I've never heard of 24/96...

4X's as good? 95% of albums you can't tell the difference between V0 and Flac. There's no way in hell the human ear can differentiate between Flac and this "wave 24/96". :lol:
