Hey Where Did The New Smileys Go?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Adster

just noticed the new smileys already gone and also you cannot hide your online status anymore any reason for this??

Posted by: N£MO

Dunno why you can't do that anymore but its a god idea,IMO.

Posted by: Gre1

They probably were taking up too much space.

Posted by: Amarjit

Smilies take like 1MB of space and that's hardly anything but why would you wanna hide your online status anyway?

Posted by: Bender

The "new" smilies where only temporary, because Jon didn't have the old ones.
So he put some other on the list until VB added the old ones again.

The Privacy Setting (the little square box) is still working.

Will any new ones be added back again? It doesn't matter that much but they were a nice addition.

Posted by: chalkmongoose

Why remove the new ones? In my opinion, they added something to the boards, especially the expressive microwave icon. I say occasionally change the darn things, half of them are never used anyway.

They will be back soon

Jon

I'm guessing that we need to find a host for the images... as far as I can tell, VB is hosting them just now.

Posted by: Jon

No hosting issues on the images...That wasn't the reason they were removed...We have been tweaking the settings and VB was bringing back the original smilies...

eMule Board Smilies (http://www.emule-project.net/board/index.php?act=legends&CODE=emoticons&s=)

Shouldn't be hard to link/nick them and use them here, would it?

There's some good 'uns there, and I know that a few (Tite-Wad comes to mind first ;)) who have now got a rep in making quality smilies

Thanks to Tite-Wad to leading me to the emoticon list a while back :D

There is of course, also the opelwerk smiley project, from which I obtain several animated and non-animated smileys.

Those look great, Illuminati :)

I can explain why some look like some of the old ones - A lot of the more common ones (e.g. smile) are in the stock list of smilies in the Invision Power Board software - They'd be common in any IPB hardly customised :D

The non-stock but familiar (e.g. the devil) is hard to say why both of us got them - I've no idea how they got in so I'm not gonna theorise on that.

However - VB, I'd seriously recommend you consult Tite-Wad/titey on his smilies, as his have been quality practically every time. I'll post a list of them he gave me a while back as soon as I can :)
