Take a screenshot, using the Prt Scrn-button, start up some graphics editor. MS paint will do in a pinch. Paste.
Preferably you should select the relevant bits and copy those into a new image (or just crop it, if you can), so you don't have a huge pic with lots of unnecessary stuff.
Upload the picture somewhere. http://imageshack.us/ will do nicely.
Then copy the direct address to the image.
Then wrap that url in -tags to put it in a post, or your signature.
url to image goes here
http://imagegen.last.fm/blackred/recenttracks/6/SnnY.gif becomes http://imagegen.last.fm/blackred/recenttracks/6/SnnY.gif for example.
Or you can mix it up even more and have one version of the image to link to a bigger one or something, like:
[IMG]http://www.google.com/logos/sweden08_res.gif
Which becomes:
http://www.google.com/logos/sweden08_res.gif (http://www.google.com/logos/sweden08_res.gif)

I don't think Snee's help was that patronising. Bearing in mind that i had no idea what to do i thought his help was really useful. You only found it partonising because you knew what to do. And yeah i agree this should be made a sticky
