I find many different interesting things on different trackers forums. Most are just chit chat, but I wouldn't say its all spam...

if you choose 2 or 3 forums it is ok...but posting on every forum is kind of stupid imo and i wouldn't do that only to be able to say i am active
i post only on my favourites trackers on a regular basis, but i also post on other forums once in a while

For knoweledge I prefere geneal forums, but for making friends and chit-chat trackers' forums is better.

There are some very original and fun ones which differ from the norm.

If you look haughtily at the idea of tracker forums from the getgo, then there's no chance you'll enjoy being there.
I'm active at a few tracker forums.
They're great fun.

I try to be active on every tracker forum. While I am fairly new to FST, I don't think I will be as attached here because it isn't really that tight nit community I enjoy out of tracker forums.

Most trackers have pointless forums. These so called 'great communities' are usually the worst ones. I mean what's cool about the forum if all the threads are à la "What does your name mean?"; "How old are you?"; "What's your favourite vegetable?. And yet these are the great communities you people are talking about.

I have seen those three questions on only one of my site forums and it is one of the ones I do not post on. Anyway, the real community interaction comes from IRC. The problem for people like me is keeping up in the 30+ channels I'm in.

The only tracker forum I've ever set foot in is FTN, and I lost interest within 5 minutes :dabs: I say trackers should stick to doing what they're good at :yup:

Most trackers have pointless forums.
What I think as well. It's not the same as dedicated boards or FST.
It's more an addition, I like it to talk about technical problems,
or to give feedback etc., I'd miss if there was no forum at all.
But I'm at a tracker to exchange files, not for forums..
I voted "don't care" because I think this fits best for me.
Having said this, there is one tracker where I like the board.
It has topics not only about the tracker, has contributing users, ...

because they have specialized discussions for members with different posting interests? or because they have streamlined the way members interact with each other by incorporating a more intimate virtual world within their forums? or, heck, because they have several cultured and intellectual discussions constantly taking place for members with actual intellect and education?
