So....

Apparently Call of Duty 5 is going to have four-player, drop-in-drop-out co-op play for the 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game. And the Wii version is going to get "a unique co-op mode for two players". The game will also have a "scaling difficulty ranking", based on your experience rank and the experience ranks of your friends. The game is going to be set in the European AND Japanese theatres.

This actually sounds interesting. Are any of you who have been thinking about not buying this game because it's WWII going to think about buying this game now?

Personally, I was already going to be buying this game, because I just love the Call of Duty franchise,

Here's the original article. It also has some nice screenshots.

No standard multi-player?? Only the 4 person multi-player campaigns? No thanks.

I own every single Call of Duty game for the PC but I'll be skipping this one.

Posted by: Boutros

I would have preferred them to stick with modern warfare as I'm getting sick of WWII shooters, but I'll definitely check this out because of the success of CoD4.

I think its made from the same developer as CoD4 (Infinity Ward) so yeah I'm sure they won't fail to impress.

I heard the new Call Of Duty 5 was with a new developer, the developer of Call Of Duty 3... "Treyarch"

I would hope by God that it has standard multiplayer O.O. If not, I'll just stick to multiplayer on COD4, 360 style >.>

This isn't truly COD5, its not made by infinity ward. This is COD3 all over again.

Technically, you're correct, as it's actually called "Call of Duty : World At War" >.> And I'm not going to be holding anything against Treyarch; I like to give second chances. I actually had fun with COD3's multiplayer (it might have just been because all I did was glitch...).

Lies. There's terrorsits out there, they need taking out. Are you just gonna let them wander around being evil. Of course you'll play it

You're either with them or against them. :bush:

wooooooohooooooooooo

Posted by: lostdemon

Looking foward to play it. COD4 was great but a bit too short for my liking.

Posted by: respawn40

Yeah, I beat COD4 in like a day.

Posted by: Skizo

Yeah, I beat COD4 in like a day.

I never even bothered with the single player. I bought it solely for the MP aspect.

Posted by: lostdemon

I don't play online and my friends suck at games so single player is all I have. I hear it is alot more fun online. Guess I'm missing out

Posted by: DiNZi

Lookin foward to it! :D

Posted by: BelleandSeb

so it's World War II again? I don't care, though. It's COD so it's bound to be excellent no matter what the setting. Like everyone else, I want the single player to be longer though.

Yeah, from the looks of it, it will be Pacific Theatre... Didn't personally care for MoH Pacific Assault, so hopefull this will be better.

Posted by: Gish

so are you saying there it not going to be multi player? if they know whats good for them they will sure as hell have it

Posted by: markupmaster

I played the hell out of COD4. I really hope that COD5 will be just as good.

Posted by: Sanka113

World war two again!?!? Talk about beating a dead horse.

Posted by: twist off

World war two again!?!? Talk about beating a dead horse.

Well, there really aren't that many games that focus on the Pacific Theater that are worth mentioning. It looks like Treyarch will be using COD4 engine for this installment, however the shittyness of COD3 (same developer) will make me weary of buying this one.

Also, there can never be enough COD WWII installments... :D

Posted by: lopezfd

I'd like Vietnam. I cant remember good games abouth that other than Platoon and BF: Vietnam

Its gota be better than going to the future, look at BF2142 = Epic Fail

Posted by: respawn40

Call of Duty : World At War (CoD5) is Pacific Theater and Europe Theater. From the screens I've seen of the game so far, it looks pretty interesting. I'm really digging that flamethrower :P

it does have regular multiplayer. thats what CoD is know for

i played COD4 and i enjoyed every moment
and now it is going to be better?!
cool

Well, not necessarily better. It's just that it's the newest game in the Call of Duty franchise, and it's set in World War II.

New /= Better

Posted by: tryambaka

I believe that cod5 will be better than 4, but it's not easy...

Posted by: respawn40

I don't really think you can call one better than the other. The fans of WWII games are obviously going to like CoD5 more; it's Call of Duty 4 with a WWII skin on.

Posted by: HeatSeeker4

Yeah, well.. Everyone is thinking that another World War II game is getting old, but if anyone here has read anything about it, its going to be set in the Pacific, which like... no game has done. None that i'm aware of anyway. I don't think it will be like every other game because its set in the Pacific. Meh, I think its going to be good.

Posted by: rtxs

I think that the history of the game could be longer, but the game cod 4 is a very good game

Posted by: lukee

This isn't truly COD5, its not made by infinity ward. This is COD3 all over again.

CoD3 was developed in 9 months compared to CoD4 that took a long 2 years to develop. CoD5 will be good.

Posted by: respawn40

Yeah, Treyarch has had much, much more time to development this game, so I would hope it be good.

Posted by: ConkiZz

Why do they get back to WW2? I liked the "modern" in Cod4... But if gets good, then its good.

You're saying it's going to be good before you even know if they're going to make one?

CoD5 is going to happen. This time treyarch has the time to make a quality game. They only fucked up CoD3 because they had a very short period of time to develop it.

Posted by: Skizo

Ah, so you're talking about CoD: World at War that is to be the next release.

That isn't CoD5.

Posted by: respawn40

Thank you :)

Yeah me too i think it was the best of the series;)

Posted by: layla17

I really liked COD4, but I think that the newest one looks good too.

Posted by: Tastas

I am waiting COD 5 :D

Posted by: Zxcv69

this games rock! CoD4 is the best online game of these years.

Posted by: Shiranai_Baka

I don't understand why people (or why these companies think people) like WWII. Isn't it horrendously over used?

Posted by: respawn40

Well, Call of Duty is traditionally a WWII series. Treyarch and Infinity Ward are the two developers that have been taking turns making these Call of Duty games. While Infinity Ward was off thinking of plans for Call of Duty 4, Treyarch was already busy making Call of Duty: World at War. They didn't know what kind of game Call of Duty 4 was until they were already too far into the development cycle.

That, or they're using a clever marketing scheme to get people to buy more games. CoD: WAW and Call of Duty 4 are both made from the same engine. One is modern, and one is WWII. So basically, they're offering options for both fans of WWII, and fans of modern war.

Posted by: JC04

Well, from the same producers of CoD3 i'm not expecting too much..

Posted by: respawn40

They only had 9 months to throw CoD3 together though =/ This time, they had around 2 years, so I'm expecting it to be much better. Although, maybe I do want it to be a bit like CoD3. I LOVED finding all of those rampant glitches :P
