Are you happy with the loading times of this site?

I merely wonder whether page loading times has any relation to satisfaction.

I'm not extremely anything.
I think it's acceptable.
The server busy messages are a bit of a PITA though.
Posted by: tesco
They're unaccaptable when you consider that we've upgraded to twoservers (before was just one) and have half of the traffic we did a few months ago...
Posted by: j2k4
No.
Problems abound.
Server too busy, blah, blah, blah...:dabs:

Looks like as it is the most visited site in universe

The techs have done some more changes to improve things. Think its better now then its been in awhile. However it could be better most likely. We will try to do more to make things better if possible. Think its acceptable for now anyway...

The sad truth is that this forum is very slow. Seems to be down most of the times I try to visit, and is steadily loosing traffic because of it.
As noted in the above pic from alexa.

the bad thing about site not being load fast is that on FF if FST is on 1st tab and few more tab's open right after that then they wont load as well if FST is taking time to load.

I seem to spend more time disabling Flash ads than actually typing anything .

Extremely Average

As noted in the above pic from alexa.Alexa has said the exact same thing about our site loading time since 2005. 7.2 seconds, very slow, 93% are faster.

Posted by: DKre8ive1

Posted by: starless
It really isn't that slow on my computer...
Posted by: j2k4
Wow.
It's worked super-fine for me (though I haven't exactly pushed it) for 2+ days now.
Odds on that continuing are...

I believe things should be better now. I know I said that before though.... We are on some pretty good servers, in excess of what would be required. Also want to thank Ross and Reality for everything as they spent quite a few stressful weeks dealing with this crap.

I would change my vote if I could, I was one of those who was connecting to the old server. My first thought when I re-edited my hosts files was holy shit.

loading times are way slow. sometimes cant even get on. but i think its been better lately
Posted by: Guillaume
It's much faster, but I still get this kind of errors:http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/5800/fstactinguphi8.jpg
And sometimes error 403/forbidden.
And yes, I've edited my hosts files, before you ask.
And I started three sentences with "and". Fark right off.
Posted by: RPerry
your still connecting to the old server seems to me. Thats what mine looked like before I deleted the entry in my hosts file.

That's what I don't understand. There's no reference to FST in my hosts file. I even went as far as deleting the whole contents of it to no avail.
edit: seems like I'm not the only one. (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/p-last-one-post-gets-6263647-post2882889/postcount6237)

'k. Back form putting the new computer together.
Anyway, it happens once in a while.
When I use your link it loads fine. I've just tried it once, mind you.
Posted by: RealitY
Then its likely something with your settings since the link would bypass those. Think some of the os have two hosts file so be sure thats not it. Also suggest trying a different browser and check what happens. Would guess youve already done stuff like clear cache and restart by now...

Actually I'm on a new computer with a fresh windows install, so we'll see now.
