I was in Ghana for a medical mission and now I can't log-in to my favorite tracker! I don't know what happened but a pop-up showed up asking me if I want to accept a certificate so I clicked 'Yes' and now the site gives me a 404 error!
Is the site down or is my account disabled or what? :cry:

Well, that would be odd...We had those infamous series of raids most notably on Bithumen (and lot of more) last year. My home does NOT appear to me as a safe haven, unless there's something I do miss.

This has nothing to do with a "peer2peer-bit-torrent-site" like FTN, their primary objective are TOP-SITES (-> HighSecureDDL/FTP-Sites), where the illegal content is born (not only shared/distibuted like FTN) ;-)

I hope that at least /var/mysql was on an encrypted partition... :shutup:
What happened to elitetorrents and later to oink should have teached something, on a secure site there should be no doubts about prosecution even if the CIA took a dd image of the drives...

If your invite expires then your inviter should get it back. Ask him to reinvite u, once the site is up.

You should have the opportunity to get re-invited by the user who invited you initially.

perspectives & priorities, some people just cannot see past their own nose when it comes to what matters in torrenting, it seems it is going to be a long, hard battle I'm afraid.
Well, I'm here for the long haul, so pull up a chair, the ride is sure going to get bumpy sometimes, and for sure not every one likes my taste in medicine, but wouldn't the world be a shit place if we were all robotic, at least some of us has some individuality that makes us unique.
And for this case, just be glad the staff are putting in tons of time & effort to get some semblance of what normality they once had, applause all round for that I say.

Besides, who knows, maybe i'll give everyone 200GB ;) And as I said, those who had invites will get invites again so long as you know who invited you.

PS: We just ordered another server. Rock on, so there will be invites again? Last I recall invites were banished forever because someone sold them on ebay or something. Looking forward to checking out the tracker. I hear the community is really good.

Jeez, if we do lose upload or accounts, so what? This could have been a whole lot worse. If you're worried about your precious buffer, take a moment to realise that it could have been no more FTN instead of a few days more downtime, the important thing is that the site lives on.

Look at the big picture everyone please.
Who cares about invites or individual accounts or how much you have uploaded in the last month.
Yes it is sad to loose anything but at the end of the day all of these things can be gotten again. If you lose your upload stats, just upload some more. If you lost you account or invites or whatever, there will be more oppurtunities to get back in.
The important thing here is that the site was backed up and will continue to exist.
As Brandon has said he has just ordered a new server and will be operational soon.
This is not a moan or a gripe as i said, it is sad to lose anything I understand, this is more of a "look at the big picture and celebrate"

Well for me Brandon, I am sorry for the loss of your coding work that was on the server, this is far more vital than user stats, which most people will make back within the month. The coding you have been doing however is a different story. I understand the loss because I have seen the effort you and your staff put in to trialing different concepts and experimenting with what can be done with a private tracker.
It is great news too , that you will be bringing FtN back when others have chosen to close their projects with the clamp down by the Malaysian authorities, so I for one, want to thank you for the effort that you are making and hope that FtN carries on in the spirit it was intended.

Well, shit happens. It does suck for us that has only had our account for a little while(mine was only a little over a month old).

The site bot is up, use that to join the channel. I was up till 7am working on everything, and eventually had to get some sleep so I took a nap, I'll have it all finished shortly hopefully.

If I am re invited to the site will I be able to in turn re invite them?
I can provide some proof that we were all members.
Or is it a whole new ballgame beginning now and let the invites fall where they may and tough luck for the newcomers?

I idled in the support channel too, and I'm guessing my account is disabled. You mentioned something about hitting /msg !invite. And when I did all that happened was another tab opened in Opera, that said !invite in it.
So I'm not sure what that means. But it did look like you guys were very busy in there, so I just left to not add to all the confusion. I'll just wait patiently until I can finally access the site and see if my account is still active. And if it isn't, hopefully my inviter will get the chance to re-invite me.

And like before, the higher classes will get an invite also, so there will be a lot of invites out to be re-sent.
We're just having to repeat the procedure basically, but if you know who invited you, you should be fine.
