What Is The Size Of Your Hard Disk(s)?

I know that most people here probably have high speed connections such as Cable or ADSL and probably download lots and uploads lots of files daily.

I have a dialup connection. I download about 400 MB a day, which is about 8 GB each month.

I had a 40 GB Hard Drive, but added in another 55 GB and i have about 4 GB left in total. I back up lots of stuff to, to keep my Hard Drives a little free. Soon I will be getting a 120 GB Hard Drive for AUS $174.

You Cable and ADSL users should need huge Hard Drives to keep up with all the download. I was just wondering, how big everyones Hard Drive, connection speed, daily/monthly download and memory (RAM). Thanx! :D

Posted by: simon_no2003

40 GB + 120 GB Was a bitch to add the second hard drive had no slot on the com, for it had to run a external conection. sharing 67 GBS and getting larger every day. thats all my files media and audio plus a few software pograms, most of the hits i get are for my latest files, so i think it is a case of not how big it is but what you do with it :D .

there is no point in sharing 3000 files that no one is ever going to need like them crap eaters B) that install software into there shared folder to make it bigger,

Posted by: ghost944

i have a
6GB maxtor which holds win 98 and 2000mp3's and a
40GB ExelStor which holds win xp/software and the porn ;) ;) ;) ;)

Posted by: Aimless6

110 GB total (just added 80 GB)
450/16 kB/s Cable
with K++ connection performance lately. I have more upload than download. :(
640 MB SDRam
1.2 GHz Athlon

Oh, and my firewall handles 5000+ connection requests to Kazaa.kpp every hour. Do I <love> the accelerator tool.

Posted by: Lindca

Sheesh! You guys are always bragging about the size of your hard drive. Does this mean that when you say you have 120 GB, it's really only 40? ;-)

Posted by: Turd Ferguson

What the hell do you people download? I only have about 38GB and that seems to be enough for me, and I have cable.

Posted by: Jibril

I have an 80 GB, on which I have software that I share, and a 120GB with music and movies... the 120 GB is only 1 1/2 weeks old, but I have used 40GB already! :D

Posted by: Bernardattic

40 gig i only have 2 and a half gig left i want a 120gig that would own

Posted by: I'm_going_slightly_mad

80 + 30 =110 gigs total. My shared files are on the 30 gig, but when I run out of room, I will put stuff on the 80 gig drive. :)

Cheers! =]

This topic was brought up before a while ago ...:

http://www.klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showto...topic=37613&hl= (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=37613&hl=)

I have a 40GB IDE 7200rpm HDD with which I have managed to use 12GB of space. I hate using lots of space, it's too hard to organise and things become unmanagable and I become careless, I like to keep things neat and tidy as the lower your HDD space the quicker Ad-aware scans, defragmentation and virus-scans perform. ;)

Posted by: Jibbler

My 40GB is 90% full of music. My 15GB is completely full too. 160GB drive coming Friday. :) ;)

2gb/ 2gb left -- dropped it on floor bad sectors LOL
5gb/4gb left

Posted by: Nexus UK

Server 200gig
pc 80gig
laptop 40gig

i think if i had more i would keep filling them, but klite does not like me having thousands of files shared, have not worked out why?

Posted by: Cerberus@kazaa

60 GB
2* 60 GB RAID 0
2* 80 GB RAID 0
= 340 GB

They were getting clogged up but when I installed a DVD writer a power cable to my Raid's failed so I lost all information on them. :swear:

So I just started from scratch (again), designated about 100 G for Kazaa (that will probably be not enough)

I dont understand why you guys have to spend so much on hdds

the more hdds you have the more likely your hdds fail and lose all your data

Posted by: Darth Sushi

120GB + 80GB and it's still not enough! :P

if you have more than one you can keep backups (don't need to write to 30/40/50 cd-r's)

it's extremely unlikely two hdd's will fail at exactly the same time...

Posted by: james_bond_rulez

yeah you are right...

I have 2 80GB Maxtor 7200 rpm 2MB cache hdds

kinda overcooked the new 80GB hdd I just bought (for 2 weeks) dont know when it's gonna fail :(...

and it's my backup drive too :(...

That's why where data reliability is crucial, people invest in RAID -0+1 arrays, where each HDD is mirrored to another HDD.
