from hosting-ie.com's web page
it says 1Gbit Switch Port
what does that means ? anyone had any experience ?
and I can't order aether link seems to be locked, anyone has any info on that please

Posted by: andra

I did have there vps with gbit and i saw speeds up to 20 MB/s soo i think its pretty nice. It was 3 vps on one gbit.

Posted by: TechnoMan80

no that is Dedicated box

http://hosting-ie.com/content/view/15/48/

thats why I can't understand what kind of connection can be on it, and support do not answers yet, "Weekends" :)

Posted by: andra

Thats what i mean.

If i did get about 20MB/s with a vps on gbit line a dedicated gbit line should be great.

I think some one on sct have hosting.ie gbit and have seen him seeding at about 30 MB/s

Posted by: TechnoMan80

I'll got it

it is truth

it seeds even over 30MB some times

I'm downloading files from rapidshare too,
I can't follow the download progress :))
one click and file is on the desktop :)))

Posted by: TOrrentersOne

what is your up/down speed average ?

Posted by: andra

I would like to try a gbit from hosting-ie. But the setup fee + gbit setup is sick high i think. But after all payment its not that expensive.

Sub Total €208.00

Tax Due €39.52
Total Due €247.52*

Posted by: TOrrentersOne

expensive :) ?
before it was just for 1Gbit uplink 25 euro plus 99 euro setup :)
that was expensive.
the price for that server with that connections is priceless!

If it is still expensive for you then go to cheapest one Dedicated Rabtor Pro Lin 577-3
or to some 100mbit one,
or to ovh :)

TechnoMan80 (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/../members/technoman80-187815)

So what is your average up/down ?

Posted by: andra

What Os are you on ?

I think i will try this server next month.
But my old hosting-ie server could not handle 100 torrents like my ovh does now.

Posted by: AcidMan

andraand what package you've been on ?I never hear anithing like that about hosting-ie's dedicated boxeswhat I can't say about Ovh :) I have standard 577 on 2x100 it works like wolf :))

Posted by: andra

I have been with both their vps with gbit and the

Dedic Raptor Pro Lin 581 Reloaded

Its only 1gb ram but i did think the server was pretty slow.
With my och box im doing about 300GB /day and have about 50- 150 torrents running 24/7 and always max it out on new torrents.

But im looking for a nice gbit :D
I need more speed :P

Posted by: RoboFace

What is there set-up time now days ?? It took forever few month ago..

Posted by: AnesZverotic

2-4 days avarage nowadays, they have really improved in customer service.

Posted by: pplush259

how is the performance of hosting ie, can it give 10-11MB on windows boxes non stop without causing disk overload issues etc.

Maby if you buy a more expensive server. With only 1gb ram you wont get speeds like that with windows.

Go for debian and ask some friend to set it up for you...

Posted by: pplush259

hmmm, and they r ok with 12-15TB a month on private trackers etc.

Posted by: andra

its hard to push so mutch traffic on a private tracker. But they dont care really.

Posted by: pplush259

then it shud be a good idea to consider hosting ie as my next box next month.

Go Linux and you'll be fine :)

Posted by: pplush259

r their any hosting ie resellers here?

Posted by: hrishi2das

hmmm, and they r ok with 12-15TB a month on private trackers etc.

Yes I do 12 - 14 TB / month...

But on 2 different IP's. You can request as many IPs as u need from them.. so keep about 7 TB per IP and you would be fine...

Yes 10-12MB/s without overload issues on a windows box..

Just make sure you have the latest south bridge drivers

Posted by: pplush259

thanks mate for ya review... so only way is to order direct? :(

Well, they take paypal so why wouldn't you just order yourself.
Max will sell to anyone.

Posted by: pplush259

50 Euro setup is a dampener mate

Posted by: hrishi2das

50 Euro setup is a dampener mate

Hosting-ie people are themselves resellers...

They dont have any resellers... and there is no way to avoid the setup... unless you have been with them for a long time ..

Posted by: pplush259

there is !! pay yearly. lol

Posted by: TechnoMan80

there is an other way too :)

they offer resellers deal :

- 30 server in one month: 50% on the setup-fee
- 50 server in one month: 70% on the setup-fee
- 60 server in one month: 100% on the setup-fee

:)

Posted by: 0ctane

it is exspensive at first coz they have to set it up but if you have for a year it's cheap than most and speeds are excellent .

I had mine for 2 years :)

Posted by: Yashau

Since OVH is now starting to cap users I'm thinking of going to this host.

Can anyone tell me the speed I can expect out of the VDS Raptor 1+ package?
It's 512MB ram I know so would I get bottlenecked or disk errors?
I'm planning to run Debian + rtorrent on it

Thanks

Posted by: parnthep

Hi sorry not sure if I have to make another tread. I have questions about hosting-ie. About their monthly charge, the tax is not included right? So the 49euro plan would go up to 59 right?

Posted by: Knat Simon

Im using seedbox.eu (Ohv reseller) and i can not live with being capped everyday so im thinking about buying a server from this hosting-ie.

Will they also cap me if i use to much bandwidth ?

Posted by: hrishi2das

Yes add 19% for VAT

Posted by: AnesZverotic

Knat Simon:
They wont cap you, they dont really care for p2p useage either.
But, if you use more than ~17TiB per month they wont like you :) and might even cancel your server (not likely but it has happened)

I have only had a Vps there so far, but I'm going for a better server soon,
what do you all think about the Rabtor Pro Lin 577-1 ?
2x100Mbit switch port, 2GB Ram, 320GB hdd, sounds great to me for a reasonable price, even though the setup fee is sick..

Posted by: pplush259

yes Setup is really high, even AMD based boxes are available. Check them out

Posted by: Yashau

Anyone got experience with the VDS Raptor 1+ package?

Is it good enough?

Posted by: Knat Simon

@ AnesZverotic - Yeah thats the same server i am goin to get.. i think the setup fee is pretty high and also i am reading that they have a very looong setup period.

Anybody know how many days it takes hosting-ie to set up a dedicated server ?

Posted by: revenant

TechnoMan what OS do you use for your 1Gbit box? Whats your max speed so far?

I am thinking of Windows OS with their 1Gbit server (Lin 577-3, 2GB ram)

I wonder if i can get some good speed? I am happy with 30-50mb/s upload.

Thanks for your advice. :)

Posted by: DaRotor

Just remember that if you got for the 6 month plan for the AMD servers it is reduced to usually 19euro. The Intel ones are generally no charge for a 12 month plan, though that's a bit long for most. By the sounds of it, a few of us here could band together and buy up a hosting-ie box?

Posted by: apextwin146

^ That would be nioce idea if we can go in for a Gbit BOx .. Bty what do u mean by its reduced to 19 Euro for 6 months ?

Setup fee. It comes down from 79 to 19

Posted by: ripleys

I have been running the 49euro month Dedic Raptor Pro Lin 577 package for a few months now and have had no complaints at all with the service.

From completing my order it took 7 days to have the server set up and running. The speeds have been good, have had no down time and any queries I have had have been answered quickly and efficiently.

I would not have any reasons not recommend them apart from the setup fee being a little on the high side.

Hope this helps anyone that is considering one of their servers.
