u can't

Damn ok, what about a P4

Posted by: 3rd gen noob

why exactly do you want to be able to use hyper threading?

Hyper Threading is a cheats way to speed up programs by exploiting a flaw in most OS's where the CPU fools the OS into thinking that there are 2 CPUS.

The Hyper-Threading or Hyper-Transport is part of the CPU construction and can't be modified in any way since its internal.

sorry, i wasn't asking what hyper-threading was. i've done a bit of reading about it before

i was asking because there aren't a lot of programs currently available that either support or gain real performance benefits from hyper threading technology

I have no real reason, I just would like to try it. Im curious about it.

well you can't

Well I know I cant with my AMD, but I think I can with my P4

You cannot enable hyperthreading unless you use a CPU which has hyperthreading capabilites hardwired into the chip, like the P4 3.06GHz HT.
