Too true.
I am always amazed that our coastal residents continually second-guess the weather forecast rather than play it safe and get the hell out of the way.
I have relatives all along the coast who wouldn't gamble a nickle, but will play the hurricane-game every time.
Baffling.

Good surf is hard to come by, j2.

BTW, as Billy Dean has officially declared you to be the Voice of America, would you mind terribly much using SpellCheck?
"Nickle"?
Makes us all look like rubes, dontcha know...

I have been importuned by Washington to intervene; despite my best and most sincere efforts, Isabel proceeds unabated. :(

Be patient and persevere..

Thank you for your support, Nigel.
I shall endeavor to persevere. ;)

I'm afraid I'm too far north to help; we need some east-coast wind-bags to jump in, here.
If we can somehow round up all the D.C. liberals, therein lies salvation.
I've caused quite a bit of turmoil on the Great Lakes with my efforts, but thats all.

Well, the news is in....mandatory evacutation for my city as of right now...jeez what a mess................
Posted by: clocker
Good luck, all...

How long would it take you to get to the Appalachians from where you are Ruhroh?

So where do you guys living along the coast go? Meaning you are ready for the hurricane to come and take your homes? <_< Must be pretty painful experience. Hope you can drag your desktop along with you.
gd luck to all.

I had experience of a hurricane when I was visiting the US in 1974. I was caught up in hurricane Carmen while staying in Morgan City Louisiana. I wish everyone in the path of the present hurricane the best of luck and I hope the damage is minimum.

It must be difficult to evacuate an entire city. It was difficult enough to evacuate a single portion of one here. Here's to your house still standing when you return.

Good luck to all in her path.
Don't screw around, now, move it!

Any news?

It wasn't that bad, at least where I am, and I'm in the worst hit county in Maryland.
It travelled through very quickly, and the rain and wind could have been much worse. Of course the flooding isn't over; it's just getting started as all the rain dumped here and Pennsylvania runs off into the streams. Power went out once, but was out for a while, and the sewage systems got overloaded. So county residents weren't supposed to flush their toilets.
Hopefully, the board's members from North Carolina and Virginia made it through without any serious problems.

Hello all, well we made it through without too much damage. The area as a whole sustained major damage and many people on the outer banks lost their homes along with many businesses. We now have a new inlet in hatteras village.Thats the same way oregon inlet was created many years ago, soooo,it will be quite awhile before things get back to the norm. Thanks for your concerns, hopefully be back up soon, this PC is running off generator power still.kinda funny cable is working
