dunno if this is a newbie type thing to say, but wouldn't life be faster if everyone started using RAR or ACE files instead of ZIP? and not using self extracter files too?

This is already a topic under Tips.
WinRAR is the best IMO although WinACE gets slightly better compression rations.
And you have to use SFX files because not everyone has the software to read .rar or .ace files.
Plus SFX files are only a little larger than archives.
The other good thing about SFXs is that having a .exe extension means they come up when you search for software in KaZaA.

Yeah, they need to work on those software/other search parameters in the next realease.
