I downloaded pulp fiction and its size was 675mb. i put it through tmpgenc and when it popped out it was a 1.5gig file. wtf . How can i make this file smaller and is there any possible way to put it on to one cd?

Any help appreciated

Ryan

I also need an avi splitter for some reason avi splitter wont run on my comp says the timeclock ran out or something

put the bitrate lower

Posted by: ryan_mckinnie

is that option in tmpgenc. what should i lower it to?

dunno,

open Gspot and check what bitrate the .avi has.

settings -> stream type must be MPEG II
settings -> Bitrate, here you can change the bitrate (lower means less quality)

If you change it to mpeg the file usually gets bigger, how much depends on bitrate which is in the 'other options' part of TMPGEnc

it doesn't have to get bigger. you can make a smaller MPEG out of an AVI, but it will look really bad.

making VCD-format MPEG out of a DivX file will produce a file that's nearly twice as big, though.

there's an option. depends on whether your DVD player is compatible with KVCD though. you should find out, before investing any time in encoding.

just use easy video splitter to split it and main concept encoder to encode both files to vcds then burn it on two discs with nero and watch one then the other.

ps all these apps can be found on kazaalite.

oh and they are all very user friendly main concept is way more user friendly than TMPenc.
