Roanfa is actually one of the only cool ones on the slsk forum.

They are, for the most part, too busy listening to "electronic music" and playing with Star Trek action figures to give helpful or sensible responses. The soulseek forum has about two people who are actually helpful.

potentially, slsk has chosen the AD user as a supernode, and therefor utilizes all of your bandwith when you're on under that name. there's an application called netlimiter which limits the amount of available bandwith to applications. you can try running that and limiting slsk's available bandwith.
oh there was one helpful answer :)

WTG sir !

:o
some of them are helpful!!!
Yes there is one server but searches are distributed by the clients, so people with large amounts of bandwidth tend to get used as supernodes. There was one person a while back who had a T1 connection but couldn't do anything because of the bandwidth overhead which was likely due to him being used as a supernode.
It is not something you can control, ie you can't tell it to use me as a supernode or don't use me as a supernode, it it done automatically. Netlimiter should help you though.
and someone else is feeling your pain Ad
this happened to me too. i think its the same thing..mine was because my connection speed was far too high under one username...add both usernames to your list and compare the speeds to check this, the connection speed is an average d/l u/l speed stored on the server - thats how it can be different even from the same computer
