When anyone try's to upload from me, their initial upload speed is good..with in 10 seconds they loose speed and fall to 0 kb's why is this and how can I fix it so I can share my files? My downloading speed is great..but what fun is it if I cant share.

Posted by: The Great Dude

Maybe it's just depends on some users who upload from you. I seen some go down and some just stay the same

The new build 6 rc10 can sorta help you because KaZap can kill an upload if it falls below a certain speed which can open up a slot for someone that can actually use download from you...

umm weird ppl who upload from me stay the same or increase lol... never seems to decrease...

Posted by: Shinigami_[R.I.P.]

LOL thats a good thing haha

So it varies on diffrent users.

Posted by: rogue305

no it's not that...EVERYONE who uploads from me suffers the same fate...they start off strong then...their kp/s drop's to 000kp/s..I bypassed my firewall...ect..the same..I have had about 100 people try and fail  I just would like to share but... :(

Did you check your pc with pcpitstop.com (http://www.pcpitstop.com/), or
speedguide.net (http://www.speedguide.net/) ? These sites can check your internet connection.
Wich Kazaa version do you have?
Try to set the Maximum upload bandwith to 128 or 256. (unlimited sometimes seems to give problems)

btw, we "spoke" each other via Kazaa last night, i gave you the link to this board :D

:D Mivaro...Thanks for the info...my speed is......ready for this.....2990kbps...Lightning quick..I will try to change my upload parameters in options and see if it helps.. ;) I hope it does.....anyone else with suggestions  please feel free....Thanks

I've never heard of a speed of 2990kb/s How can you possibly achieve that?

I think the site he got his speed from measured in kilobits so its 2990 kilobits/sec...
8 bits= 1 byte
8 kilo bits= 1 kilobyte
2990 kilobits = about 373.75 kilobytes

SO 2990 Kb/s = 373.75 KB/s

notice the diff between Kb and KB? Kazaa Lite messes up on this on the traffic screen...But still, thats really fast DL speed

i donot share my files cause the only people who download from me is deity and it is always the same person

I am also having this problem. I use cable but the upload speed is terrible for some users. I tried the 256 fix but it did not work. Any other suggestions. Since I am knew here and need to know, does your participation level really influence your download speed.

Posted by: bestoutof2

well realy the more people that upload from you when you aredownloading your downloads go slow

The level does'nt influence the dl speed, only the amount of sources you're dl'ing from. It could be you're dl'ing with 20K from 1 source instead of 5 with in total 10K.
When you use KazaaLite you'll have a pl of 1000 so none of that matters anymore. :D

@Bestoutof2 Dl speed mostly is'nt affected by uploads. It seems sometimes 56K modem users have that prob, but they can limit the max ul bandwith

You can set a fixed upload speed in the registry too (whatever value you want).

HKCU\Software\Kazaa\Transfer\UploadBandwidth

Set this to for example 2000

2000 kbit/s = 250 KB/s

Posted by: rogue305

:P In all actuallity my dl speed is 5405kb/s this was confirmed by pitstop.com
How you ask? Optimum on line, a fast board and a registry tweek and whalla.
Fast yes...and by the way my upload speed is 912kb/s so no one shuld have a problem uploading from me but :( they still do....unfourtanate :( I have so many good files to share
