well, just got $450 US dolla, and im thinking of some new parts for my pc...
AMD athlon 2600
512mb ddr mem
got all my stuff like moniter, printer ect..
now im looking for new stuff, like a vid card the most, but im not wantin to blow all my wad on one girl...i meant thing, so does any1 have any ideas?

I don't know why you want the Athlon XP 2600 when the XP 2500+ costs only $85US.
If you have what is in your specs already, I would just upgrade your video card.

2mb vd card? lol. my 4year old comp had 11mb of shared mem. lol. anyways, get a vd card. and oc ur cpu. get a good heatsink and fan. or wc if u can afford all that. vd card, hmmmm....... a 9600 would be nice, or a 9500, but more $. if u really need to conserve ur $, get a gforce fx 5200 ultra or regular and oc it.

Your probably thinking that it sucks because games run totally shit. Get your self a faster video card and that system will play anything you throw at it.
The video card is just as important as the CPU.

Agreed, 512 of Memory is enough for anything you would want to do on that 333 FSB Chip and Memory.
Go for a new video card, a 9600 is like 140 bucks easy.
And if you still want to blow the rest of the money, I would probably suggest,
A nice overclocking fan, get some extra performance, if your Mobo allows overclocking - 40 Bucks for a good fan and heatsink.
A good sound card, that blows away just the basic onboard - 30 bucks, on the low end.
Nice speakers perhaps? If your just using 2 basic ones, I would suggest atleast getting a nice two piece set, like the logitech, 340Z I believe? - 50 bucks.
A bigger hard drive if you have an open spot on either of your IDE channels. - 80 bucks for an 80 Gig is about right, give or take 5 or so bucks.

Well the 9600 pro, that is, is off by 4 pixel pipelines from the 9500 pro, but I have read that those 4 extra pixel pipelines turn the speed on the card way down--I think that they cause a lot more heat. That is why the 9500 pro has the clock that is does, which is significantly lower. The memory modules on the 9600 pro overclock very well. If check out the speeds that 3rd gen noob was testing you see that the clock is over 100 MHz higher than the 9500.
I personally think that the 9600 pro at the $140 price point is the better buy over the 9500 pro (as far as price/performance goes). The 9500 pro costs $200 (all USD). 9500 pro is a better overall card, but not $60 worth more.
