Downloading Movies

I have a dsl line (just recently) and have been downloading movies. Some seem to be fast...others slow and so much variation. Sometimes my speeds are slower than when I had dial up. I'm just a neophyte at this and would appreciate any help at improving my performance :(

Just keep running speed up or clicking find more sources. That is your problem. The sources you are connecting to sometimes just don't have much upload bandwidth available. If you can't find many sources you can always disconnect and reconnect to a different node. You'll have a whole new set of people to search then (well, at least about 8 times out of 10 you'll be on a different node) To let you know, there are other networks were you can negotiate a direct connection with someone at a guaranteed speed. Kazaa can whip their ass though as long as you get some sources. Which shouldn't be very hard if the file has been out for a while. Speed up is an asset when you're away from your pc, but I think right clicking and finding more sources is more effective if you are actively working.

I've found that Fast Track Accelerator works well finding new sources, but I have had to reduce the timing settings a lot from default to get any success B)

Ok...how do I find auto search more (ASM) I know about find more sources

It comes with K-lite full installer.
Just do a normal search for your file, and ASM will keep pressing searchmore, so you'll get loads of sources.
Note that this will only work if you use K++ (because it uses its infinate search more option)...
Also note that some files just are very rare, and it might be hard to get high speeds for those

my download speed is very god and here is some tricks from another post but i donot know if it well work for you it works for me all you have to do is when you are downloading from over 1 user got to the + at the end of your download and if the download says 0.00 got to the download and then go to find more souce it well give your download a boost it works for me my download got a big boost on my downloas i went from 100.23 to 399.78

1 big speed problem with DSL is if you let Kazaa run uploads at 'unlimited' speed (and worse yet, 'unlimited' number) you will see huge drops in your download speeds.
So TEST Kazaa Lite++ for awhile to find out just how fast your uploads can go in total.
This will give you a total speed in KB/sec (KiloBytes/sec) -- unfortunately, Kazaa's upload bandwidth limiter is in kbps (kilobits/sec). So you need to multiply the KB/sec value by 8 to get kbps.
Then find the NEAREST limit Kazaa allows and use either it or the one smaller than that.
After that, you need to set upload slots to something low so each one gets at least 2KB/sec (16kbps) but don't give out more than about 10KB/sec (80kbps) each, or you'll find many times where your uploads are full of 56k users and you're wasting bandwidth.
If you have a 128kbps upload cap, this works best with either 64kbps (when the connection's rather busy) or 128kbps (when you're not downloading >20KB/sec and/or not trying to surf the web) and about 2-5 upload slots. If you throttle it down to 24, 32, or 64kbps (depending on the game) you can probably even play online games on another computer sharing the connection without much lag.
For 56k modem users, 1 upload slot, 24kbps upload bandwidth limit or maybe 32kbps upload bandwidth limit if you've got >46kbps log-on speed+v.92 modem and downloading slower than 4KB/sec.
Anything more will just slow you down and won't make the uploads to anyone go any faster.
No sense crippling your downloads if it only increases you uploads to people by 5%.
