Available at http://www.nvidia.com . Should increase performance for those with FX cards over the 45.23...

thnx for the update!

No problem. It also seems that theyre naming the 50 series, "forceware". The 40's being the detonators.... the only complaints i have at the moment is tribes 2, me along with another person seems to have fps suffering, but only in that game. Annoyingly strange...

I think the Nvidia menu is better now, also the 'setup' after reboot is much better!

Posted by: abu_has_the_power

yea, it's the final version of the driver. not the beta on guru3d or 3dguru or w/e

Posted by: Nogimics

They didnt work for me when I went to the Display Properties it said Catastrophic Failure :( So downgraded to older :(

Posted by: L0rD_S0tH

great I installed the new driver and when I reboot windows I get a missing ntldr error and I have to restart! SOB!

Posted by: abu_has_the_power

works fine on my gfx 5200

Posted by: L0rD_S0tH

not sure what happened, but I put in my xp cd and went into the recovery console and did a

copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\

and that fixed it. wierd.

Posted by: SniperInTheShadows

I installed this and then spent half an hour trying to fix my PC's display :-( After installing I kept getting the "Catastrophic Failure" when trying to access the Display Properties menu just like Scoot got, so I tried rolling back the driver and ended up with a blue and white screen (all the graphics, desktop wallpaper, icon's etc were visible but in blue and white and very blocky) :-(

In the end it was simple to fix, just uninstalled the drivers and rebooted and let Windows download older (44.03) WHQL drivers.

This isn't the first time nVidia's screwed up with their drivers, i've had other failures with some older version's, and the 45.23 XP driver's TV output gives a broken and blocky image with the anti-flicker filter off lol

Let's hope their next version's not as bad :-)

Sniper.

I've had no problems with them, so far anyway. That's all i've got to say really.

Right. I'm off to the pub. :D

Translation: What the fuck is get rid of those damn nvidia cards?

I honestly don't know what you're asking. If you need nVidia video card help, I suggest that you go to Hardwareworld for that. ;)

pfttt

Did you guys delete the old NVIDIA folder before installling the new drivers ??

Their is a utilitie on that guru site and it wipes the old nvidia drivers from your pc so it doesnt conflict.

BTW they should have left the name to detonator the new name sounds fkn gay.

Actually ATI's Radeon 9800 XT and NVIDIA's FX 5950 ULTRA are currently very close to eachother in terms of performance and quality, in fact - the 9800 is more powerful than the 5950 in most applications...

i'm on gf4 mx440 and im using the Starstorm's 45.23 release...it's running really well at the moment...

http://www.guru3d.com.

maybe you can find a modified version of the newest driver from nvidia which runs with better performance/quality, drivers on the site are distinguished by this 2 factors.
