I have a movie in svcd format. Can I play it right off my computer? What media player would I use? Thank you.

What do you mean mate by svcd format.A bin or mpeg2 file?Imo powerdvd is the best.If you have a bin.Use vcdgear to extract the mpeg. You can mount the image or play from the bin..but then most players wont use the hardware acceleration from your video card.Windows media player is also good dor mpeg files too. :D

SVCD movies are made to play in your DVD player not on comp so see if it works in your DVD Player.

Get WinDVD if u don't have XP PowerDVD is only for XP. But those will play it the same way it will look on your DVD player so if it doesn't work in DVD player that's your alternative.

The newest of course. If it supports Win2000 then get that one.
