Doom 3 Alpha.exe

Hi
I have downloaded the doom 3 alpha, it came down as a.exe application file but I can't get it to run under XP home ed even using compatibility mode. I also downloaded Splinter cell...same problem, do these need renaming as *.iso files and burning to cd first?

Or is there any other way of getting at the files stored inside what I assume to be an executable archive?

Have a look at WINISO:

http://www.winiso.com/

You can open the exe files with this and install them without burning

Tried it, doesn't work. Winiso doesn't see them as valid image files. Can't see any other options that would make it look inside a .exe file

right click if extract here box had apear in the right click menu while using winrar try to extract it and see maybe you fined the iso files that you can burn

i'm not gonna be to much help here, but i'll tell u this. i had the d3 alpha and beta. the beta works easy, but the alpha u have to do some tricks. that's where i'm not gonna be able to help u. u get into the game, right? it just doesn't play. well, in order for the game to play u have to treat it like dos. commands if u will. something like.. ur into the games console and that's all u get. now u enter something like C:\Doom3\Mars1 "enter" then it will go. that's the best i can do. it's been awhile, sorry.
