paul i can host it

i have 2 hosts that i can upload it to... rpgo.net and kvd.host.sk let me know if you want me too....

Posted by: SlimShady

It would be cool if there was such a thing for DOS.
So you can put it on a bootdisk and run it after pressing a key.
Even if it would need 2 disks it would be perfect.

Posted by: Paul

This is a windows solution only. It already helped cleaning two systems for me.

I forgot to mention that this version if for Windows NT/2000/XP only.

Post you mirror links in this topic and I will put them on the main site.

Posted by: zapjb

Nice. But I can't download it. Something bout leech or download manager or firewall. Waiting for alternate download site. Thx again.

nice package paul, i expect when you update, it will involve the redownload of the program, am i right in thinking that?

The old file can be deleted as soon as you have put the newer (updated) file on your host.
So in fact you could just replace it.

Sorry, but it's not possible to have a separate prog to update only virus definitions or the possibility to download only the updated files?Thanx

The nod32m1.vxd bug on XP should be fixed now.

I though it was only needed for 9x since my win2k didn't need it. Now it is used for all Windows versions.

Is NOD32 intended for Windows 2000, NT and XP? What about OS 98?

because paul hasnt included it in package, i thinks

What about the updating of the software later? How?

you download the whole package again, as all files are kept in a temporary folder and deleted at end, hopefully paul will come up with a better solution soon ;)

Posted by: Paul

As I mentioned before, this is not intended as a primairy anti-virus solution. That is why there is no update functionality.

Also, the virus definitions are about half the size of the complete package. So there isn't a very big difference between downloading the whole package or just the definitions.

Error occured while scanning operating memory. Operating memory cannot be scanned (an error occured while loading nod32m1.vxd file or during communication with the testing service).
Perhaps a different version of the vxd file is used on Win2003 or additional files are required. You could try to install the trial version of and compare the files.

Posted by: Kunal

I will try to install the trial version on server 2003 later on, but how would i compare the files  and also i still get the vxd error on windows xp sp1

Posted by: Paul

I will try to install MS Virtual PC 2004 tomorrow so I can test on XP.

The nod32m1.vxd file will most likely have a different size if it is different from the win98 version.

Posted by: Edskes

WinDiff (from the Windows 2000/XP/2003 Support Tools)

Posted by: Edskes

I get this error: "Error occured while scanning operating memory. Operating memory cannot be scanned (an error occured while loading nod32m1.vxd file or during communication with the testing service)." in the Dutch Windows 2000 SP4 (in de Nederlandstalige Windows 2000 met Service Pack 4 en alle andere updates).

Posted by: Paul

I found out that the scanner needs to communicate with the NOD32 Kernel Service to be able to scan the memory.

I will try to find a solution.

Posted by: Paul

Update.

Scanning of the operating memory has now been disabled for Windows NT/2000/XP/2003.

Posted by: Kunal

will the scanning of the memory be added again, if you find out why it has errors?

Posted by: Paul

It requires the NOD32 Kernel Service to be installed. So don't expect to to ever be added.

Posted by: Kunal

oh well, never mind

Edit: download link doesnt work

Posted by: Paul

The download link does work. Disable any webfilters that you might have running (including the one in ZoneAlarm).

Posted by: Kunal

paul i get the error 404 page, instead of the usual disable web filters etc, i dont even have a firewall running!

Where does it install to or do you just keep running the installer. Also, how about make it install like a normal app with desktop and start menu shortcuts and an uninstaller.

Also, I get this error when I scan:

C:\papgefile.sys - error opening (access denied) [4]

Thanks a lot,
Will

Posted by: Sarkie_2002

well its because it is being used by the windows operating to page out memory to your file so is constantly in use so cannot be scanned, just ignore it

Posted by: Paul

Updated the virus definitions.

Posted by: Supernatural

Bandwidth exceeded again!

I give up. Paul, I'll never host anything for you again. :P

Posted by: zapjb

OK then. Would you Edskes please host this app and it's updates? If you would be so kind as to do so, please provide a link as you have so many different sites & or pages. Thanks.

Posted by: RedRival

Is the virus definitions manually updated here and so we have to redownload the whole client everytime to update the definitions??

there was something like that as well, ppl do it by downlooading the trial version of nod32 on the official site on a monthly basis whcih allows automatic online updates during the duration of that 1 month.

Posted by: Paul

You can find the full NOD32 package + crack (or username/password) if you know where to look.

As you can read in this topic the current package is not intended as a primairy anti-virus solution. It has no update function (that would require the full package).

Eset updates the virus definitions two or three times a week.

But it is no problem if you update only 1 time a week.

NOD32 2003-11-21 is available for download now.

Posted by: Paul

NOD32 Antivirus extends its stunning performance in Virus Bulletin's tests and receives its unprecedented 24th VB100% award! NOD32 remains the only antivirus product in the world that has not missed any In the Wild virus in Virus Bulletin tests for more than 5 years and has received more coveted Virus Bulletin 100% Awards than any competing antivirus product.

NOD32's awesome scanning rate of 9.270 kB/s (which is more than twice the speed of the second competing product with 100% detection) beats the generally accepted paradigm: a product can be either fast or have excellent detection; NOD32 provides both with a minimal impact on CPU cycles.

Due to NOD32's Advanced Heuristics Technology Eset's antivirus product is able to detect a very high rate of the unidentified (and not yet analyzed) viruses without any need to update the virus signature database. This state-of-the-art feature provides the user an ultimate advantage protecting his computer against viruses that may hit the streets in the future.

i can vouch for the speed, I went round to my mates to clean his pc of shit and decided to try this out, it was win98 btw got the latest dl of it, and its perfect and it took about 20 mins to scan his hdd which was about 8 gig with 5 gig occupied, and no firewall or antivirus installed i was very surprised, if u need a quick clean b4 u put a "real" antivirus with realtime scanning such as norton. Scan ur pc with this beast b4, WD paul

You keep releasing them but I don't have a clue where to get since you don't post any links and it seems all the websites always have the previous or even earlier versions.

So is there some site that is update by you every time you release a new one and always up to date?

Edskes he is reffering to your mirror site and the version on there. A suggestion, only post about newer versions once your mirror site is updated, its less confusing that way. B)

any chance of changing the date format, as YYYY-MM-DD is a bit confusing. instead DD-MM-YY, or DD-MM-YYYY

No, since YYYY-MM-DD is the most logical order, because the files are then ordered from old to new (when sorted on name).

Inno Setup 4.1.0 is released!
http://www.jrsoftware.org/

Dutch: in het eerste scherm van de installer kan ook de informatie staan die nu in het tweede scherm (Information) staat. Het tweede scherm zou daarna weg kunnen. Om dit te doen is de Engelse language file van de laatste versie van Inno Setup nodig. Daarin kan dan de tekst "This will install {NOD32} on your computer."

Does NOD32 actually scan viruses/trojans inside of zips and other archives? Or will I need a seperate program for that?

Yes, it scans also inside archives. There is even an option to scan all files, no matter what extension they have.
