I have cablelynx and a surfboard modem
can I get more download speed by changing something...I have tried some of the things I've seen in here, but wound up making a mess of things normally...help

As for tweaking the modem... Use TCP Optimizer (http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php) or CableNut (http://www.student.ipfw.edu/~gottjl01/).

turbo didn't do any good....but thanks....speed must be as good as it can get...probably modem speed

Try Modem Booster 2.6 full by Inkline Global. There something must be done in your modem to tweak.
