i always download avi files as i find it easy to convert etc to burn. not knowing though ive downloaded a mpeg file, what do i do with this to be able to burn to dvd?

Posted by: timanfiya

I used TMPGenc to convert avi's to mpeg then use TMPG DVD author to make a DVD.

Try using TMPG DVD author or any other authoring tool to convert your mpeg. I use Spruce UP aswell. Both seem ok and work for the converted mepegs.

mpegs do not need to be converted they will go directly to a disc

i tried burning it straight onto a dvd, but my dvd player said it could not play it. my player plays dvd-r, vcd and cd's. anymore help please?

i am trying to author it with tmpg dvd author, as it will not play on any dvd player if i just burn it first. i always jsut use avi as a rule as they are really easy to put onto a dvd, but this mpeg which is "love actually" has got me stuck.

could it just be something that im doing it wrong? normally when i open the dvd choices in nero i go to "DVD VIDEO" but for this you need to have ifo and bup files. so should it be something else in the menu that i should be using?
