How To Post "avatars" ?

After reading all the posts that I could find on this subject in the forums, I'm wondering if its really worth the hassle to try to post an avatar other than the ones available on this site. Some posts indicate that this can no longer be done,yet I still see them appearing in posts from relatively new members.

yeah, if you upload an image to a free webhost, and go through my controls to >edit avatar settings then you can put a link to it...or use none, or use one of the provided ones...its up to you! :D

The only problem that exsists(sp?) is that some sites have disabled the option that allowes you to link to pictures on their site. Like Geocities and so on. :)

Use the site your ISP should have given you. If you want to, I can host your avatar for you. There are other helpful members that can also host it.

Yes, as long as it allows hot linking. (IE Geocities dosnt allow it....But there's ways to get around that to)
Remember the maximum size of an avatar is 64x64 pixels.
