I'm looking for something in the vein of NSW that i can use to clean up lost files etc. does anyone have any recomendations?

do you mean to recover files that have been deleted?
if so, try OnTrack Easy Recovery Pro or EnCase :)

i'm thinking more of general system error recovery and windows faults corrections as well as file recovery and broken links etc if you know what i mean. the type that scans your system then lists the errors and corrects them.
