Which Prog To Convert .cda To Mp3 And Wav Etc?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a good prog which will convert cd tracks (.cda file format) into mp3 and wav etc and vice versa. Can anyone reccommend a good one please?

For those of us who want a simple, one step program to copy from CD directly to MP3, what would you recommend then ?
(Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but EAC requires a multi step conversion process right ?)
I don't have the time to rip exactly when I can rip at 320 (or sometimes VBR.. my mood changes :rolleyes: ) Which has always been plenty good enough for me, and I have never had a problem.
I used to use MP3Workshp, but it won't work after I reformatted, so now I use CDex. Is that a good enough program ?

EAC Works fine... although I havent had any problems with Dbpoweramp, which I will recommend and you can download it free from their site.
Good luck with your rips... and remember, rip in 192 or higher :D :D :D

Make that 320, or VBR ;)
Surely it's not much longer to download, but it's certainly better quality. Mybe it's being picky, but I wish I could download more at a higher bitrate than 128 - 192.

idon't agree 320 is a waste of time and space also if you have a gig cap monthly waste of downloads

EAC + lame 3.90 + --alt preset standard (~192VBR) is standard.
anything else (aside from the occasional --alt extreme/r3mix is silly.

I also use FreeRip & have never looked back. Excellent ripping quality using the LAME encoder. Also rips into other formats such as OGG and WAV.

Rip @ 192 and ensure that the default setting is CBR (Constant BitRate). Whoever mentioned ripping to VBR (Variable BitRate) has no idea what he's doing.
Trust me on this... I've been doing this for some time and you won't regret it.

cbr is a waste. you're losing good audio data, and keeping lots of unnecessary stuff, which is just pointlessly increasing the file-size.
u know nothing. :rolleyes:
