Do not ask for the file after you have requested it either, just wait.
i got that from http://www.incomplete.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ in the rules section
my question is...if i'm disconnected from mirc, will my request be remembered next time i'm online?
what if the fillers wanna fulfill my request but coincidentally, i'm not there?
will they cancel it? can i re-request?
