More Board Rooms Needed...

It seems that only me and FC are supporting this idea.
Have you all looked at the lounge lately? :blink:
It's topics like: "Internet Explorer" "Win 98 or Win XP" "Audio Codecs" "Rpg Help" "Which are the best programs?" "Pretender - TV movies" "VCD Hack" "Where can I find chinese movies links?" "Burning movies"... :blink:
:blink: Do you really think all of this should be Off-topic? :blink: :blink:
But it's not just the lounge, some other sections have topics like these posted all over! :blink:
My suggestion remains: GAMES room, MUSIC room, MOVIES room, SOFTWARE room, HARDWARE room.
:D It would be nice to have FC around right now. He would surely support me! :D

I fully support the idea as well - if only cause you have a great avatar and cause i'm scared of FC (you do know that KILLA is his bodygaurd?) :D
The only problem i see right now is finding enough mods to keep those new rooms in order. Also, i think the main topic of conversation seems to be trying to find alternatives to the "verifieds" as this seems to upset more people than i thought possible. Anyway, most of rooms cover more or less everything as it is for the time being, but maybe a preperation for expanding is in the right order.
So, you have my vote - if its feasible of course.

MORE rooms please...too many people and n00bs with not alot to do!!We got to have more rooms and a n00b section where they can post there first questions so as not to annoy others with pointless posts that end up spreading all over and making the place look a mess. :D

OK, I realise Im gonna get shouted at, but...
I do actually agree that the boards we currently have were aimed more at when the forum was started, and that the board has taken a different usage since then. Even since early this year when I joined, things were different. This would lead to the suggestion that (maybe) the boards could be tidied up a bit. Maybe one or two added.
BUT, I've recently been messing about, setting up my own board, and Ive seen a lot in my research. Some people have pages of different areas, and different places to post, each containing like a dozen posts, which gets really annoying to scroll down through them. (take fasttrack central for example...it is up to the limit, before it starts to just be plain annoying) So more boards isn't necesarily the answer, maybe better used boards or stg like that.
anyway, just my ideas

yeah, but if like one or two were added, it would be good.
mainly, we could combine problems with installation problems (146 posts) and connection problems (244 posts)
Tips and development could go into one, combined to give (473+496 posts)
this would clear 3 (i think),, which would make way for another couple, perhaps.
also, the way i look at it, if we added 2 to what we have now, id still be able to scroll top to bottom, with the rolly ball on my mouse, using my 15" monitor, without bending my finger in funny angles, so another couple'd be OK

As a n00b I agree with TBO's n00b board idea. There r a lot of ppl out there who r totally new to kazza/kl and I would definatly ansa any newbie posts to help em out. The same could apply to n00b questions on probs with files d/l'ed from kazaa such as DivX/XviD codecs or corrupt iso's. Hopefully that would cut down on duplicate posts in the main boards.

this would also stop the flaming that's started lately...no-one could complain about a damned n00b, if they posted it in the n00b section, right? that way, if die hard members wanted to go and help people a while, they could, and if they wanted to go and hang with others, they could...GENIUS

Didn't FC mention something about rooms pertaining to specific topics as well? So, you've got boards for problems in general, i.e. OS, connection and hd issues. But what about sections like movies, music, sw, games and the like, any problem regarding the opening, sharing or using of those files could be put in such catagories, instead of scrolling thru questions regarding one of the afore mentioned topics spanning accross 3 boards. Being a n00b as you say, I suppose a room dedicated to that wouldn't be so bad. A board for posts that we are unsure as to which board they belong on isn't such a bad idea either. I haven't started a new topic myself but unlike many I do see among my fellow n00bs I can read the boards and pretty much figure out where the heck I'm supposed to be. So, a n00b board would be a definite help to those that don't bother reading what's one the board already to take their cues.
Also, if such a board were created, then I assume it would go without saying that once the post has been reviewed the author would be informed as to which would be the proper place to post. Just a thought.
And Ron? I believe there are some sites already that can fulfill your wishes.

This is not what I mean. A n00b room would be nice just for posts where the user has'nt quite got used to the layout and is unsure where to post.
It would also stop the main boards from clogging up with posts in the wrong subject board. Hey it may even save the mods the effort of moving such threads!

And if they're unsure of where to post it means they can't read!
I think the sections are pretty well self-explaing, people should take the trouble to read what they are about.

Yes, I agree with you FC.
There is already a Newbies room it's just named as Guestroom.
I think it should be renamed as NEWBIES ROOM and would still allow unregistered users to post.
Also if my suggestion would go forward (MUSIC ROOM, MOVIES ROOM, GAMES ROOM, SOFTWARE ROOM and HARDWARE ROOM) the General Problems and Questions section wouldn't be needed anymore since the problems could now be filtered with the new sections. ;)
