Dvdrs On Kazaalite?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm pretty new to this, and i've noticed that all of the movies available on kazaa seem to be of the vcd/mpg variety... I have a dvd burner, and I would like to d/l some movies that are in dvd format, ie >4gb...

Simply downloading/buring would be a lot cheaper than renting/burning.

Any advice?

thanx

if you want full dvd's use bittorrent. its not like kazaalite to use. What you do is install the software and then go to a website like suprnova.org and search for your dvd and click on the torrent, and the download should begin. You will recieve errors ocassionally, but most will work fine.

alternatively you can download dvd rips in AVI format (usually divx or xvid) from kazaalite and convert them into dvd complient mpeg2 and burn the to disk.

I tried bittorrent using "shadow's experimental" client... got the torrents from dvdrtorrentskickass... the speeds were sloooooooooooowwwww :frusty:

I can usually get over 100 kbs on kazaalite, but on bittorrent I only got 1-2 kbs... I don't have the patience to wait 2 weeks for a dvdr <_<

Do you know if there's another way? or maybe I'm doing something wrong???

ur probably behind a firewall and you need to configure your ports or turn off your firewall that comes with xp, that if you have windows xp. or just simply wait for the downlaod to gain speed and be grateful its always FREE! ;)

nope, already did that when I tweaked windows xp.

and, I love the free-factor B)

try mIRC its d/l speed is fast

Posted by: openfire

..when you say fast, faster than kazaa?

it depends on the max k/bs u can get on IRC and it depends on the type of internet u have

the answer is proably yes. Irs is faster 90% of the time, butr there are expections.

IRC is fast but there r often long ques

Posted by: openfire

ok, what about the quality of the dvd's you get on mirc? I'm looking for downloadable dvdrs to burn with a dvd burner, not crappy 700 mb vcd. And I don't want to waste my time downloading dvd's that end up having errors when all is said and done. (a little demanding I know :P )

So what's the consensus?

go to packetnews.com and search for DVDR or something.

IRC is the way to go.

If people were to put dvdrs on kazaa lite they would be corrupted like shit unlike emule, shareaza and bittorent which have error correction.

Was the light green or yellow?

Are you behind a router, if you are you'll get shit speeds of bittorent unless you forward ports 6881 - 6889

You can get dvdrs off emule or shareaza just use the quick links at http://www.sharereactor.com
