Turn Off Kazaalite In Middle Of Night ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: digmen1

For personal reasons (my ISP bill) I would like to be able to turn Kazaalite and my ISP connection off automatically at say 2 am in the morning.

This would allow me to have a good searching session for an hour or so at night (when my wife lets me) and then for Kazzaa to do its thing for a couple of hours each night.

This would keep my monthly useage down and also avoid the situation where Kazaalite has runout of files to download or cant find any.

Woudl I have to do this in Kazaa or My ISP ?

Are there any optons to do this, or wouldone has to write a VB script ? (I can't)

I find Kazaalite to be very forgiving of crashing out of the program. I have never lost a part file yet, whereas on WinMx any partial files got blown away if I crashed out !

Is this a good idea or what ! ?

Thanks

If ur running Windows — and depending on the version of Windows — u could always force hibernation after a certain amount of time. No need to screw with ISP or Kazaa.

Hi Cotton,

Yes I am on 56K dial up and I use Windows ME.

I would be very grateful to know the name of the program you mention.
You could either send it to me, or give me a URL.

What do you think of my idea ?

The prob u mentioned with crashes in first post is solved by trashing ME. It's got to be the worst, most bug infested OS ever! (Not just parroting — I've run it.)

dl XP or 2000 and u'll have the control ur looking for.

Thanks guit steel.

I know what u mean about ME. iahve to reboot once or twice a day.

Its all a question of money, I had to buy a 2nd hard drive the other day fro all my MP3s and next I want to get XP.

Does XP have such a option (to turn of ISP) system built in ?

you can get a program called swirch off, it has a hangup function and can be programmed to do it at a certain time. site (http://yasoft.km.ru/eng/switchoff/)

Thanks Guys,

Sven, I have tried that program you recommended its called Switch Off and it seems to work perfectly. I have used it twice now.

Its easy to set and can run in your system tray so you can set it easily.

It is a free program.

As the last 2 suggestions, is that really possible ?
