everytime i start up media player my CPU usage goes up to 100% i have a P4 2.4 Processor so i know this shouldn't be happening does anyone know what might be wrong?

Open media player up, go to View>Visualisations and choose no visualistations..
This should stop a lot of cpu usage

that was neevr enabled i turned it off when i first got it so it must be something else

Maybe you'd consider uninstalling it and finding anither media player..theres a lot of good ones out there..i use Videolan and WMP9
