Does Western Digital have a Hard Drive bigger then 200 GB Capacity and 7,200 RPM?

Posted by: Paul

I think the biggest IDE harddrive currently available is 320 GB.

Posted by: the flinger

I know the 200 is not the latest but I wasn't sure if 320 out yet..... I think that the 250 may be of the biggest

please excuse the bad spelling and grammar this is written using a voice recognition program

The 320 gig of Maxtor (5400rpm) isn't out yet so the bigest one now is 200 gig of Western Digital on 7200rpm <_<

Posted by: Paul

Just put two 200 GB ones in a raid 0 config. Twice as fast and 400 GB total space   .

Is there a reason you bumped a 4 year old thread?
FuNkY CaPrIcOrN hasn't even been to this site in a year...

Aww bless, he just wanted to tell everyone what a big hard drive he has. YOu know what they say, "Big hard drive, big e-penis".

It is interesting to see the enormous difference in price from now and four years ago... A 320GB HDD now is around $100 OEM, whereas a 750GB is less than $400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148134) even.

you do realize that that post is almost four years old? things have changed in four years.

I got one 500 Gb Maxtor 6H500R0 DiamondMax 11, IDE, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache, 8.5 ms. Quite fast and lots of space :D . And it wasn't so expensive. No problems with usage, very stable, runnig 24/7.

Regards all.

Well, I should think that would be all you'd need. After all, that nice Mr Gates is quoted as saying that nobody would ever find use for more than 640K of RAM, so what would you load all that data into?

Very similarly, Seagate (which has an awesome warranty) sells their IDE 320GB for $100-120.

Seagate also offers a 400GB for $200 and a 750GB for $450.

(That's my next slurge. :D )
