(m)irc Brings Router Offline

If I run Mirc my router goes down....
sometimes I can go online and stay online for a few minutes, but after that my router just goes down...
Any solutions for this problem?

thats weird ..
are u behind NAT ? did u open mIRC ports ?
what brand is ur router ?

probably not behind a NAT because I never heard of it, what is it?
I use the standard irc port (think it's 6667)

try describing ur router may be it is conexant as mine .. black with nothing tells it is conexant lol
are u using any IP in ur network configuration .. if not or if ur using a virtual IP that would be NAT
try using another port .. try 6666 or 7000
