I'm lazy these days, I just use a program instead of calculating & tweakin the registry manually.
For tweakin connection settings on Windows, just grab the TCP/IP Optimizer from speedguide.net:

You can also try dslreports.com/tweaks (http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks) It's pretty good and web (Java) based.

PS Go here if you need to convert from Kbps to Mbps or whatever. It's useful for those who need to enter the proper speeds but dont know Kilobits from megabytes. http://www.edoceo.com/utilis/bandwidth-calculator.php?from_bw=6Mb&cmd=Calculate
