Burning Mpeg/avi Movies To Dvd

Does anybody know what software to use to burn downloaded movies to DVD+Rs?
This may or may not be a stupid question but im new and im desperate!
I cant bear having to watch movies on my computer screen any longer,any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Never done it myself, but this (http://www.dvdrhelp.com) website will help you out a lot.
I've done plenty of DivX to SVCD/VCD and this site has been indispensable.

Ulead DVD moviefactory. First encode your avi to mpg then open up Ulead DVD moviefactory and select the mpg's to be made into DVD's.

I'm currently experimenting with vcd to dvd burning and such but haven't had he time to actually burn the vcd onto dvd. maybe next week :)
