Are There Any Devices Like This In The US

Amstrad (a UK company) have a product called the emailer link > http://www.amstrad.com/default.shtml

It allows the sending, receiving and printing (with printer) of emails.

The benefits of this over a pc are the price and the fact it can be just plugged into a phone line and you don't have to pay a monthly subscription to email or surf the net. On the negative side you have to pay to collect emails and are charged per minute to surf the net.

Does anyone know if similar products are available in th US?

No, its not for me, I have three PC's (4 if you count the crappy pentium166) .

I need a similar device for my clients in the US. The emailer does everything they need here in the UK.

Does anyone know of something like this that could be used to recieve and print emails?

That would be impracticle as the number of clients are likely to be in the tens-of-thousands :P (i hope 100k + :D ).

They would want devices with warranty and a good support service. I need a device like this to facilitate the function of my business. A PC would be a better choice, but prefer to keep the costs down to maximise profit

Anything similar that can recieve emails and print them would suffice.

hmm cpuld you not buy them there and ship them oversees??
i wouldnt have thought so, as they will be setup to use a uk isp. which would cost alot to ship to america, and im not sure if it will allow u o change the isp/.

They're not compatible with the US telephone system, but i will be in talks with amstrad for adapting them ;) . I would have prefered to use US products, as i could have launched my service in the US at the same time as the UK. But if there are no alternatives then i will have to wait until i have sufficient number of clients for Amstrad to take the proposition seriously.

Thanks for your suggestion in any case. :D
