I wanna know if I can install linux on my windows 98 pc or does it totally replace the windows o/s (I sorta doubt that but I'm not sure). Does anyone know a n00b friendly linux o/s. I also heard that there is a CD that has linux on it which I can load from the cd drive. Is this true?

Yes you can dual boot, I posted links to tutorials many times in other threads so do a search.
n00b friendly, probably just start out using kde or gnome as your desktop envirornment.
