I Have Some Questions....

Well, I know there has probably been hundreds of threads answering my question, but I admit, I am too lazy to look.
Well, I am not familiar with copying d/l-ed movies so they can play on my DVD player. Is there a special program I need? Can I use CD-R's, or do I have to get something else? Can I copy any movie? What are the steps needed?
If anyone can answer my questions, it would be deepky appreciated.
