ok, well, this laptop came without a CD Burner with it.. does anyone know of a free one i can install?

If you have XP you can burn it with the built-in feature.
IMO, The best CD Burning application is Nero Burning ROM; look in the verifieds for a copy.

for a free burner hit this link (http://www.klitetools.com/) and choose one for the media section, otherwise nero is one of the best, but its not free you have to make it free :lol:
